Pragovka – Far From Everything Else, But Trust us – It’s Worth it
Pragovka is an “art district” located in a early 20th century factory, featuring galleries by its residents and also live events.
Reasons to go there
They define it as an “art district” in Kolbenova. It is converted from an old car factory from the first republic formed after WW1. You arrive and its atmosphere immediately captures you – they did a very good job of preserving the old factory space with little touch, so just checking around the space is as interesting as the exhibition are visiting. It is also used as a filming location, or as a live event space for concerts. We know, it is slightly off center, but we promise you’ll fall in love with it if you are into this type of industrial-type settings.
What not to miss
After you go through the main gate -which you walk under a cool Pragovka sign, no less-, check the street art-type wall paintings on the left after 50m.

Hard not to be amazed:
Location
Few mins walking distance from Kolbenova metro stop (Yellow line B). Reminder: It may look far from center, but trust us – it’s worth it 🙂
Kolbenova street and Vysočany itself is a highly industrial district, as you feel it as you exit the metro station – and most likely you will feel you’ve arrived at a wrong place as it looks very unlikely to be hosting a space like Pragovka. But for me, it only makes the overall experience better: You have to travel via metro, and you walk through a highly industrial space, and then Pragovka welcomes you, first with its very industrial-looking gate, but then you enter a space full of creativity. Nice? I say yes!
Combine it with
Well- it’s far from everything else, so we don’t have a close-by recommendation 🙂 But likely you will spend a long time there, so make sure you are ready for it!
